The island was last rebuilt and opened in 1996. Today the island is one of the finest resorts of "Aitken Spence Hotels". Earlier the island was managed and operated by an Italian company in a "club" style. Still the resort is one of the best clubby, fun-loving, let's-do-it-all-together resort of Maldives.

Today to spend your holiday at Club Rannalhi you don't need to be an Italian, due to the Aitken Spence's management policy and philosophies. As you could see from the above picture the island has beaches all around, and its wide. The lagoon is great for swimming. And just like any other Maldivian resort the bottom is sandy and close to shore.

One of the best things we (hellomaldives.com) found were the reef where the edge has a  swimming distance from the shoreline, giving easy access to the guests for snorkeling on the reef. And every now and then, when we snorkel at the house reef we saw Sting rays, Eagle rays, Manta jackfish and many other exotic fishes and corals.

As the name implies the island has quiet a number of activities and music most of the day into the night. It could be windsurfing, water-skiing, volleyball, para sailing, quizzes and a number of other events where everybody is welcome.

Based on hellomaldives.com's "comment forms" we have found-out that the only disappointment of Club Rannalhi is that the major buildings are in one area. As the second problem our guests has highlighted that the beach rooms are in 2-storey blocks. Each of these blocks has 4 rooms - 2 above and 2 below. Though these beach rooms are made of concrete blocks; interior is quiet attractive with wood and colorfully painted, as you could see from the right-side picture. The room is a bit small for some of our guests and for others the size is quiet O.K to spend a week.  

However these 100 rooms are fully air-condition, with hot and cold fresh water, mini bar, hair dryer, t'phone, etc.

Some writers says Club Rannalhi has a large dive school - but this is not enough, they organizes three to four dives per day: two in the first half and two in the second half of the day; at times they include night dives. Further the dive centre runs Internationally certified dive courses, such as PADI. And the instructor's are well certified and fully aware of the local dive sites.

From Club Rannalhi the diver's will get access to Rannalhi Faru, Ran Faru, Ihi Faru Ramm Faru and other dive sites which are close to Fihaalohi Island.

And there are 16 water bungalows which are in the lagoon. These are on stilt in blocks of 2's. These enchanting, luxurious water bungalows include television and piped music. And the beauty of these water bungalows which has added value is the large glass paved area on the floor of these water bungalows which gives a spectacular underwater view of the coral and marine life which is enhanced at night when the glass panel is lit from beneath.

The 3 meals are usually on buffet - however at times the breakfast will be served. HALF Board considers Breakfast and Dinner. FULL Board is been considered as breakfast, lunch and dinner. As per our (hellomaldives.com) survey's the food is moderate.

As indeed there aren't much complaints in here - but most the guests offer opinions for improvements such as individual beach bungalows, more varieties in buffets. Aitken Spence, being a new company in Maldives and operating a great island, day-by-day improves the service and the standards. In overall, if you're fun loving and would like to get engage with activities through out the day, Club Rannalhi could be considered on your short-list.
