Even if you are not a diver, Alimatha with 60 air-conditioned and non air-conditioned bungalows, diverse water sports, day excursions, delicious food, a well stocked bar, and resident medical staff, has got something for you. One of the best fishing areas where fishing is guaranteed, especially marlins. Very local with lots of palms and beach, right round the island.

Angagau is one of the best all-island beaches in the country. The wide open beaches go all the way around the island, unobstructed by bungalows, walls, groynes or thatched sun shades. The reef edge is very close by for two thirds of the island, and on the other third there is a large, gradually sloping, sandy bottomed lagoon. The palm trees are tall and plentiful. The buildings are well designed and unobtrusive.

A major positive image of Angagau is the great beaches outside every room. And just beyond that, great snorkeling and diving on the house reef. But, we would highlight on the point that the island is not well-maintained.

This resort is like a hidden jewel. Never advertises and tucked inside the North of North Male' Atoll, it is a sparkling example of the "Original Maldives Style". Thus this means that the island has almost no development. Just only 30 rooms, a single reception, bar and the restaurant building. No swimming pool, no karaoke, no satellite tv, no tennis court, nothing.

This is a kind of place where everyone goes to the jetty to see their new-found friends off, or gets up for dawn with a group on their last morning. Even the number of staffs is kept to a minimum. Many of the waiters go for fishing, everyone helps sweeping around in the morning, and the barmen knows all about the reservations.
