Biyadhoo, as its sister island "Villivaru", is basically a dive island. The resort has a good quality dive base and the island is beautiful and it has a good, colorful house reef, for snorkelers and divers.

Naturally Biyadhoo has a good soil, and has given rise to tall coconut palms as you can see anywhere in the Maldives. On top of the palm trees, a variety of other naturally growing bushes and trees are there in Biyadhoo. Further, the management has added papaya, mangoes, lime, guava, banana and many more other local fruits.

As you come from the water, to the right side of the jetty are the dive center, the water sports center, the main beach and the cafe, restaurant and shop. And the reception and lounge are on the left side of the jetty, including one of the two blocks of the rooms. And the Sunrise block, which is the second block of rooms are away from this area and this is connected by a  path through the middle of the island.

The dive center is larger than Villivaru dive-center, all other aspects are identical. The dive-center is modern and really good looking. And it's a PADI five star center run by friendly, multilingual staffs.

maldives_islands_resorts_biyadhoo_diving_dhoani.jpg (10378 bytes)Biyadhoo's Dive-center is well popular and boats leave four times a day. And the diving in the region is very good. With a short boat ride, you can catch the soft corals of the huge "Kandooma Thila" and the large Protected Marine Area, "Guraidhoo Kandu".

In considering to our chosen "25 Dive Zones", Biyadhoo is based in "Guraidhoo Zone". If you would like to get a detailed explanation regarding the dive sites available in this zone, please CLICK

The coral is understandably thick around the island, and also so near. And 6 channels have been cut through from the outer reef, enabling easy access for the divers to any part of the reef. Never too far from shore, its residence schools of several different fish, topographical variety and fine coral growth means that it ranks as one of the best resort house reef's.

As an alternative for diving, the guests can go for snorkeling to the house reef, which is so close to the beach and the visibility is very good.

maldives_islands_resorts_biyadhoo_room_inside.jpg (10173 bytes)As you can see from the right-side picture, accommodation is in two-storey blocks. There are 6 blocks, each with 8 rooms above and 8 rooms below (making-in-all 96 rooms). The corner rooms are slightly larger and can fit about 3 or 4 beds, suitable for  families. And each of these blocks has a good shade and a reasonable beach.

As you can see from the top-most picture the beach comes and goes around the island, still there is plenty for everyone and have good opportunities to find your own "hideaway beach" between the palms and bushes. Being a dive island, still Biyadhoo offers a long list of different excursions.
